At the end of August, the MTV Video Music Awards 2022 will rise! Then many of the hottest artists in the music world will travel to Newark, New Jersey to receive one of the coveted awards or to perform there. The broadcaster has now announced the nominations.
Topping the list are Lil Nas X (23), Kendrick Lamar (35) and Jack Harlow (24), each with a total of seven nominations. Lil Nas X and Harlow scooped multiple awards including Music Video of the Year and Best Collaboration for their hit "Industry Baby."
For the best music clip are also Doja Cat (26, "Woman"), Drake (35) with Future (38) and Young Thug (30) for "Way 2 Sexy", Ed Sheeran (31, "Shivers"), Harry Styles (28, "As It Was"), Olivia Rodrigo (19, "Brutal") and Taylor Swift (32) for "All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version)".
Meanwhile, the list for artist of the year includes Bad Bunny (28), Drake, Ed Sheeran, Harry Styles, Jack Harlow, Lil Nas X and Lizzo (34). Adele (34, "Easy on Me"), Billie Eilish (20, "Happier Than Ever"), Doja Cat ("Woman"), Lizzo ("About Damn Time") and Elton John (75 ) with Dua Lipa (26) for "Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)" and The Kid Laroi (18) with Justin Bieber (28) for "Stay".
