The rapper Mystikal (51) was arrested in the US state of Louisiana over the weekend, as reported by several US media. According to the Los Angeles Times and NBC News, he is accused of rape and false imprisonment, among other things. A police photo was also published on Facebook.
The police spoke to a victim who suffered minor injuries during an attack in connection with an alleged sexual assault in a hospital on Sunday night. Mystikal was later identified as a suspect. The rapper, best known for the 2000 song "Shake Ya Ass," whose real name is Michael Tyler, was eventually arrested and taken to jail, an Ascension Parish police spokesman told NBC News " have confirmed.
According to an AP report, Mystikal was convicted of sexual assault back in the 2000s and spent around six years in prison. Allegations of rape and kidnapping made in 2016 were later dismissed after he served another 18 months in prison and was released on $3 million bail.
