Oasis star: Noel Gallagher wants to go on holiday unrecognized – then the entire restaurant sings for him

Even stars want to have some peace and quiet, just go on vacation and enjoy a break. However, that is not so easy when your own face is known almost all over the world - and you are therefore recognized everywhere. This is what happened to Oasis star Noel Gallagher on his holiday in Ibiza.

The singer wanted to eat at a restaurant with his wife and son, but was interrupted. Obviously, the owner of the restaurant quickly recognized which prominent guest was sitting at his table. He played the Oasis super hit "Wonderwall" over the loudspeakers in the restaurant. And all the other guests agreed – after all, almost everyone knows the text. Some even stood up and clapped along.

Gallagher had to endure the serenade willy-nilly. With a tortured smile he waited until the song was over. He then gave polite applause. His wife Sara MacDonald seemed to enjoy it more: she filmed the whole scene with her smartphone and laughed.

With "Wonderwall" Oasis, the band around the brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, had a mega hit in 1995. The song is an absolute must for campfires and karaoke bars. Many fans and critics consider it "the perfect rock song". Noel Gallagher, who has since fallen out with his brother Noel and is now a solo artist, doesn't even like the song.

"'Wonderwall' is one of my least favorite songs because it's not done yet," he told Mojo magazine last year. "If I could somehow turn back time and go back there, I'd probably pick a different song for our business card." That and the disturbance on vacation probably also explains why the spontaneous serenade was a rather uncomfortable situation for Gallagher.
