It's called parental leave or still "maternity leave". Sounds relaxed: vacation, no work, cuddling the baby. Why do we need a book for this? Both labels promise something we don't get: time and vacation. Parental leave begins with our ideas, wishes and hopes, but also with worries. Everywhere we read: Parents never have time for themselves. Mothers on parental leave fight - hopelessly - against housework, children screaming and high expectations. I didn't want to believe that. So I looked for a way to live differently.
