The moderator Sonya Kraus ("Talk Talk Talk") had reported about her breast cancer in the past few months with a lot of openness and humor. She bravely endured the demanding therapy, even though she lost most of her hair in the process. Certainly not easy for the 49-year-old, whose trademark has always been her long, blond mane. But perseverance seems to have paid off – Kraus is doing better now.
And now she treated herself to something special. She wrote on Instagram: "Instead of going to rehab I'm going home to Black Rock City to Burning Man!" What is meant is the legendary festival in the USA, which attracts a particularly large number of creative people.
The moderator would like to correct that: "BM (Burning Man) is NOT a festival, but a community of art-loving free spirits for a week in the most inhospitable environment imaginable." Apparently a real dream goal for Sonya Kraus.
And anyone with long hair knows that multiple days at a festival can be a look (and occasionally personal hygiene) challenge. A tactically clever hairstyle makes such an adventure much easier.
And so Sonya Kraus has also thought ahead and thought of a suitable new look: She had many small "hip-hop braids", braided strands reminiscent of cornrows, made that hold their shape and do not require much care. The hairstyle was probably not that easy to create.
The reason: Kraus' remaining hair is not as long as it used to be, artificial strands had to be braided. "Today I tried out what's possible with hairstyles and I'm so happy that my braids (with a lot of trickery) work," she writes on Instagram and shows herself with the new head of hair smiling happily. So hopefully nothing stands in the way of fun in the American desert and the presenter can really enjoy her creative break!
