Risk of injury if eaten: manufacturer recalls Kaufland salami

The recalls at Kaufland are piling up: most recently, nuts had to be recalled due to a mold toxin, and now another private label product is being hit. There could be plastic parts in the "K Classic" salami.

Because the sausage could contain transparent plastic, a manufacturer is recalling a certain type of Kaufland salami. The product "K Classic Delikatess Salami" is affected, said the manufacturer The Family Butchers Germany GmbH, based in Nortrup, Lower Saxony. The possible plastic parts "can pose a risk for the consumer that there may be injuries when eating them." Other products are probably not affected and will continue to be sold.

It is about the 200-gram packs with the batch number KEM0005264510 and the best-before date December 14, 2022, it said on the portal foodwarning.de. Customers could also return the salami to Kaufland supermarkets without a receipt and would be reimbursed the purchase price. The product warning primarily affects Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia.
