Stéphane Plaza, host on M6, accused of violence by former partners in a “Mediapart” investigation

Stéphane Plaza, flagship host of the M6 group also at the head of a network of real estate agencies in his name, is accused of violence by three former partners, according to an investigation published Thursday, September 21, by Mediapart.

The host's lawyer, cited by Mediapart, denounces "totally extrapolated, even false allegations", which led the host to file a complaint for harassment and cyberharassment in June. Requested by Agence France-Presse, the latter was not able to react immediately, just like the M6 group also contacted. At this stage, the investigation by the online news media does not report a complaint filed by the alleged victims or the opening of an investigation by the courts.

“Mediapart has brought together numerous elements and stories testifying to mistreatment by the real estate agent popularized by M6 on three of his companions: humiliation, threats, verbal violence and, for two of them, physical violence,” explains the online media in his article.

Three broken fingers

According to one of the women interviewed, Stéphane Plaza “exercises manipulation, pressure and mistreatment” in order to “make several serious relationships coexist at the same time”. This same source also claims to have had three fingers broken by the host during an argument, "a fracture of the ring finger with bone tearing, and two dislocations at the joints of the middle and index fingers", specifies Mediapart.

Another companion, a single mother and former participant in one of his shows, announced that she had filed a lawsuit in September 2022 after having suffered violence, denigration and death threats from the host, who refused to give him back the keys to his home.

A third explains having ended their relationship after five months after being threatened by the alcoholic host during a romantic weekend in Vienna, Austria, when she had just discovered he was cheating on her .

Initially a real estate agent, Stéphane Plaza became a star of the small screen when M6 propelled him in 2006 to the head of the show “Research apartment or house” then “Maison à vente” (2007) and “Chasseurs d’ apart” (2015). Designated for several years as the French's favorite presenter, Stéphane Plaza brings together several million viewers with his various programs. The M6 group also became the majority shareholder in January 2022 of the Stéphane Plaza real estate agency network, which has some 660 franchises across France.
