Trailer for "Andor": New "Star Wars" series starts in September

Fans of the "Star Wars" universe will receive series supplies in September. With a trailer, Disney has announced a new start date for "Andor". At the start on September 21, the streaming service will show three of the twelve episodes. At the end of May it was said that the series should start on August 31st.

Andor is set before the events of 2016's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The series centers on Cassian Andor, played by Diego Luna (42), on his journey to becoming a hero in the rebellion against the Empire. Starring alongside him are Genevieve O'Reilly (45), Stellan Skarsgard (71), Adria Arjona (30), Denise Gough (42) and Kyle Soller (39). Forest Whitaker (61) will also be there in his role as Saw Gerrera, as the trailer shows in one scene. Luna is also one of the executive producers, Tony Gilroy (65) is the creator and showrunner of "Andor".

Visiting the US show Good Morning America, Luna explained that the series is "quite unique because we know what Cassian is capable of," but viewers encounter the character at a time when he didn't know himself yet. Cassian Andor is "just a normal guy who suddenly has to be part of something bigger". The series not only shows the beginnings of a revolution, but also tells a "beautiful story because it reminds us [...] of what we are all capable of".
