South Texas Girl Scout cookie fans might have a hard time satisfying their need for S'mores now that the treat has become a hot commodity.

The Girl Scout cookie warehouses serving San Antonio and Southwest Texas troops have been "depleted" of the commemorative treat, spokeswoman Helen Montoya Henrichs told mySA.com Thursday.

And Henrichs said the warehouse will not be getting in any additional stock.

Girl Scouts released the S'more cookie for Perabet the 2017 season, which lasts from Jan. 1 to March 5, in celebration of the organization's 100 year of sales. Henrichs explained the first documented s'more appeared in a 1927 Girl Scout handbook, spurring the idea for the centennial cookie.

The graham cookies sandwich a chocolate and marshmallow filling and is a "crowd favorite," Henrichs said.

She called sales of the special cookie "unprecedented."

"We didn't expect it," Henrichs added. "If a troop still has them and (customers) want them, they should scoop them up."

With National Girl Scout Weekend kicking off tomorrow, cookie-crazed buyers might have a chance to score a box of S'mores at places like the San Antonio Zoo, where some troops will be selling treats and raffling prizes on Saturday and Sunday.
