Some people mockingly call the current young generation "Generation Sunscreen" - not without reason, because protection against skin cancer and premature skin aging due to too much sun exposure is now high on the list for many young people. Hardly anyone leaves the house without sunscreen with SPF 50.

This also has to do with the fact that thick layers of make-up (remember the YouTubers who became famous 10 years ago primarily through make-up videos) have gone out of fashion. You now want naturally beautiful skin, preferably without a lot of help from foundation

It's all the more amazing how Heidi Klum's 18-year-old daughter Leni recently showed up on Instagram. The young model had visibly stewed in the sun for too long, shoulders, stomach and décolleté glowed deep red. "A little more than just kissed by the sun," wrote Leni self-deprecatingly. But this laconic humor was not well received by most Instagram users. Instead, it rained criticism – and concerned advice.

After all, severe sunburn is something that hardly anyone takes lightly these days. "Leni !!! Use your sunscreen!" Writes a horrified user under the Instagram photo. "It has nothing to do with sun kissing, it's definitely sunburned," commented another.

A woman writes to Leni: "From someone who had three operations for skin cancer: TAKE SUN CREAM!" Others give her tips to soothe burned skin – with aloe vera, for example.

But people on the web aren't just worried and shocked — some are actually angry. After all, Leni Klum has around 1.5 million followers and is seen as a great role model by many younger girls. "Showing off your sunburn is the same as posting a photo with a cigarette," one reproached.

Elsewhere it says: "Advertising for skin cancer!" A woman writes to the 18-year-old: "Please use sun protection, you are an idol!" But we all know it: At 18 you still think you're invulnerable. That's why this age is so great.
