Mountain View Fire Rescue firefighters are mopping up a grass fire that started shortly after 1:30 p.m. in Erie.

The fire they called the Coal Creek fire burned in a field east of Cheesman and Katte streets until about 3 p.m.

She said there were three engines and two brush trucks on scene working to extinguish any smoldering spots.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
