The How:

Hourly mean sea-level pressure forecast showing the progression of the low pressure system.Kelly Reardon, cleveland.com

A low pressure system moving in from the central Plains combined with a close-behind warm front will initiate some very heavy atmospheric instability Tuesday, triggering on-and-off thunderstorms throughout the day. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center has Northeast Ohio in a region of "marginal risk" for severe weather associated with these storms. Thunderstorms officially reach severe-level when winds top 58 mph or there is hail greater than 1 inch in diameter.
