A 57-year-old woman has died after suffering injuries in a Wednesday night fire at a home on Edmondson Avenue.

Miriam Wright, 57, died Thursday afternoon at a Baltimore hospital, Baltimore fire officials said. Her cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner's office.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Baltimore fire crews were called to the home in the 1900 block of Edmondson Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. They encountered Betorder heavy smoke on the first floor of a three-story row home. After extinguishing the fire, responders discovered the woman unresponsive.
