Woman falls from balcony in Sherwood Forest, sustains life-threatening injuries

A 69-year-old woman fell 15 feet from a balcony onto rocks below Thursday night near Annapolis and was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries.

The Anne Arundel County Fire Department said firefighters responded to a call of a person injured from a fall on the 200 block of Nottingham Hill in the Sherwood Forest neighborhood around 7 p.m.

Firefighters and paramedics found a 69-year-old woman who had fallen from a balcony and sustained serious injuries after landing on the rocks below.

She was flown to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with life-threatening injuries.
