Arrests and protests: Pub syndicate in Neukölln cleared

Despite the loud and partly violent protests, the long-fought Campaign "syndicate" in Berlin-Neukölln has been cleared on Friday. Shortly after 9.00 a.m., the bailiff appeared, accompanied by numerous police officers in the cordoned-off area in front of the pub, in the street Way. The front door was opened from the outside, in order to give the bailiffs access.

Typically, the house owner in such cases, a new lock installed and the police still remains a long time in front of the house presence in order to prevent further occupation. The pub had been no lease anymore, the operator does not want to take off.

In the night and in the Morning, many hundreds of people in the vicinity of the pub had against the eviction, demonstrated, and protested. The police had cordoned off the street on Thursday, to prevent a direct Blockade of the access. It came to scuffles between protesters and police.
