Auction at Van Ham: sleepless in the Museum

The prelude to a "Modern Week" at the Van Ham auction with modern art on 10. June in Cologne, Germany. The first lot has the same in itself, it is the most highly prized of the entire week: Hans Arps, reduced oil works on cardboard "Fronde et nombrils" from the year 1926, the market comes fresh from a German corporate collection and carries an estimate of 300,000 to 500,000 euros. Ewald Mataré provides the charming sculpture of the "Grazing cow II"; the 27-centimeter-long Bronze was created after 1930 is also market fresh and to bring 70,000 to 90,000 euros. Also Adrian Ghenies untitled oil Painting from the year 2002 was purchased by the current Austrian owner directly from the painter in the first place and impresses with its intense colour, similar to an Explosion (80.000/120.000).

Sol LeWitt's Gouache "Cube (B)" of 1994, also plays with the color and to your order. 155 153 centimeters colorful lines strung together, form patterns and create spatial depth and complex Color tones (100.000/150.000). Striking Luc Tuymans' 1988 created "Insomnia" is: Two gray spots on light green Background symbolize the suspended state between Sleeping and waking.
