The SVP is upset. And how! The reason for the anger is your own Federal councillor Guy Parmelin (60) is calculated. The Minister of economy of the party to the case again and again in the back – so it is perceived to be so by many SVPler.
The last straw an Interview with the "NZZ am Sonntag has brought" about three weeks ago. Therein Parmelin spoke English and clearly against the termination Initiative, which comes in September, at the ballot box. The SVP-Federal Council called the referendum "a threat to our location."
With the Initiative, the SVP wants to give up the free movement of persons with the EU. For years, she is working towards this goal. For the party, it is the main template for years – and, of all things, the kill Parmelin now.

As Romand Parmelin was moderate in many of the topics more – that's why it has chosen, Parliament in 2015 – and not the current Faction leader Thomas Aeschi (41) or the Ticino state councillor Norman Gobbi (43).
"Our candidate of choice and he was not sure", say several SVPler behind his Hand. "We have nominated him just to be able to have a wide range to offer." At the most, so at the time, the hope, could provide Parmelin for new SVP-voters in the Romandie.
SVP starts return carriagesBut this hope has been dashed now. In the Federal elections, the SVP lost in the Western part of Switzerland even more than usual. What remains is disappointment. The relationship between Parmelin and his party has reached a low point.
What makes the SVP of their Federal Council clearly felt. In unusually sharp tone, she tore up in the past few weeks, several of his templates in the air. The proposed six billion for the EU research program Horizon was rejected as irresponsible fantasies – even though the Swiss research landscape benefits. But well, since it has the word EU.
