Conservatives meet: Conference with Trump and Orban begins in Texas

Right-wing conservative activists and supporters of ex-President Donald Trump will meet on Thursday for a conference in Dallas, Texas. At the meeting, which lasts until Sunday, Trump will also speak – on Saturday evening (local time).

The conference will be opened by Hungary's Prime Minister Victor Orban, among others. Also expected are Trump companion Steve Bannon, US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, known for right-wing conspiracy theories, and arch-conservative former governor of Alaska and vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin.

The organizers of the "Conservative Political Action Conference" describe the meeting "as one of the largest and most influential gatherings of conservatives in the world". Trump has been the keynote speaker there in the past. Recently there has been repeated speculation that the 76-year-old could announce his renewed candidacy as a presidential candidate before the congressional elections in autumn.
