Maritime rescue: Moroccan Navy rescues hundreds of migrants

The Moroccan navy has rescued about 472 migrants who had tried to reach Europe by sea. The Royal Moroccan Armed Forces (FAR) shared with Atlantic and Mediterranean "several boats in difficulty" to have helped.

Among rescued people were 28 women, 27 minors and three infants. People and boats had been brought back safely, it was said in communication. Nothing is known about nationality of people who have been saved.

Every year, thousands of refugees from different countries of Africa try to get to Spain via Morocco. They use boats that are rarely suitable for cruising on high seas.
