New book about her fears: Michelle Obama "horrified" about a possible Trump candidacy

Donald Trump promises a "big announcement" for today. It is speculated that the Republican wants to move back into the White House in 2024. Michelle Obama is anything but enthusiastic about the idea.

In a joint interview with "Stern" and RTL, former First Lady Michelle Obama expressed her deep concern about a possible political comeback by ex-President Donald Trump in the United States. When asked if her personal fears -- which she addresses in a new book out this week -- include fears of Trump's return, Obama replied, "The thought of it terrifies me."

Obama, who lived in the White House in Washington with her husband Barack from 2009 to 2017, has repeatedly criticized Trump in the past and denied him his suitability for the presidency. Trump has promised a "big announcement" for tonight. Experts suspect that he will then announce his renewed candidacy for the presidency.

When asked whether the US Democrats should campaign against Trump with the almost 80-year-old Joe Biden, Michelle Obama did not want to comment. "I always find it amazing that while few people are qualified to lead a country, so many think they know how to do things better," said the 58-year-old. "We also don't try to lecture our doctor or our car mechanic. I don't allow myself to second-guess the political decisions of others."

Michelle Obama's new book entitled "The Light Within - Finding Stance in Uncertain Times" is out today. In it, the former first lady shares with readers "her knowledge and her powerful strategies for hope and inner balance in uncertain times," says the Penguin Random House publishing group.
