Rick Scott says ‘ridiculous’ inflation caused by government waste, spending: ‘Americans should be furious'

Sen. Rick Scott of Florida said Sunday that Americans should be furious with how Democrats handle their money. He also stated that President Biden's Build back Better agenda will only increase the country's "ridiculous” inflation and further put it into debt.

During an appearance on "Fox News Sunday," Scott told host Chris Wallace that Democrats are still debating their multi-trillion-dollar spending bill while doing nothing to address the skyrocketing inflation that will only be worsened by more government spending.

WASHINGTON DC - OCT 27: Sen. Rick Scott (R.FL) raises an article from Sun Sentinel while he talks with other Republican Senators at a press conference about rising energy and gas prices at the U.S. Capitol in Washington, DC on October 27, 2021. Republicans blame the Biden Administration, blaming it for rising gas prices this year. However, predictions predict that heating costs will increase significantly this winter. (Photo by Samuel Corum/Getty Images).

He said, "If you take a look at what they're referring to with this -- name whatever bill -- all it's going do is increase inflation." Look at the impact it has on poor families, as gas prices have risen 55%. Food prices are rising at the grocery store. All of it is due to government spending. By the way, look at inflation, border security, parent involvement in schools, military support. There is absolutely nothing Democrats talk about that would solve a problem Americans care about.

"Solve it, fix it. He said that there are no solutions in this administration. "They're like commentators. They say, 'Yeah we're going to have a problem through next years.' But, they don't know how to solve it.

Scott explained that he voted no to the bipartisan infrastructure bill. This was another piece of Biden’s agenda and passed the Senate with the support of 19 Republicans. It wasn't fully funded and did not do enough to improve actual infrastructure.

He said, "You put a bill before me that's going be roads, bridges and airports paid for. I'm very interested to do something like that." But I'm not going to bankrupt the country. This country has nearly $30 trillion in debt. This bill was almost a quarter trillion dollars in debt. This must stop. This is leading to inflation. This is causing inflation. This is a problem for families like mine, who had to work hard to provide food for their families. That's the solution.

He said, "We have to live within our means like every family." "The wastefulness is unbelievable. Americans should be furious at the way money in Congress and the Senate is spent.

Scott, who is the chair of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, said he believes Republicans will win the Senate back next year because Americans are fed up with Biden’s "crazy radical socialist agenda."

He said, "Do logic things." He said, "Secure your border, balance your budget, be careful with how you spend money, and cut taxes. This is what Americans want." They don't want the crazy socialist radical agenda of the Biden Administration. It's crazy to see what's happening in this country.

"Why will people vote for us?" They want a secure border. They want parents to be involved in schools and they want to pay for the police. He said that they don't want this insane inflation."

Scott made a similar argument last week in an opinion article for Fox News. He cited a poll from the NRSC which found that suburban voters reject Democrats' attacks on American energy, their focus upon critical race theory, other radical curriculum, open borders and amnesty agendas that are fueling a crisis on our Southern Border and a radical social agenda allowing biological males to participate in women's sport.
