They had to leave the energy-rich hydrogen nuclei collide, and the properties of the produced secondary particles are measured. The researchers were able to determine during the analysis of data in an energy range of 6.9 Giga-electron volts, a resonance – like Elevation in the number of registered J/Psi-mesons-mesons consist of a Charm – anti-charm Pair. The significance of the measured signal to provide the physicist with more than five Sigma, which corresponds to a probability of 99.9999 percent, that is a real Signal, and thus to a discovery.
