Getting enough sleep wakes you up and keeps you healthy - but many Germans don't get that, as a survey shows. This reveals more facts about sleep patterns. For example how many are sleeping revealed.
Around 40 percent of adults in Germany say they sleep badly. This is the result of a representative survey by the opinion research institute YouGov on behalf of the German Press Agency. 10 percent said they "didn't sleep well at all" and 30 percent said they "didn't sleep well". According to the survey, men sleep better than women according to their own assessment - 62 percent of the male respondents called their sleep "rather good/very good", for women it was 55 percent.
In addition, while a total of 7 percent "never" have problems falling asleep or staying up late at night, 24 percent said this happens to them "rarely", 33 percent said "sometimes", 20 percent "often" and 14 percent "very often". 40 percent of the female respondents have "frequently" and "very frequently" sleep problems, among men it was only 28 percent.
More than half of the adults in Germany would like to take a nap more often. When asked "Would you like to take an afternoon nap (more often)?" 18 percent answered "very gladly" and 37 percent "likely". The longing for an afternoon nap is somewhat greater in women than in men. One in five would like to have it "very much" more often, for men this was 15 percent. Overall, however, the tendency is the same for women and men, because if you add up the answers from those who "very much" and "like to" would like to sleep more often in the afternoon, you would come up with 55 percent for men and 54 percent for women.
Around 15 percent of adults in Germany sleep naked. Accordingly, more men (18 percent) than women (12 percent) like to sleep completely undressed, in the east (18 percent) it is more than in the west (14 percent). This is the result of a representative survey by the opinion research institute YouGov on behalf of the German Press Agency. Multiple answers were allowed on the survey because not everyone does the same thing every night.
Overall, according to the survey, most sleep in pajamas or pajamas (38 percent) or in underwear/underpants (32 percent). Pajamas are most popular among women (42 percent) and underwear among men (44 percent). Almost every third woman (32 percent) prefers the nightgown, but only every 14th man (7 percent). The rest did not want to give any or no precise information.
