" I must say it's a cluster, " said organizing committee spokesman Masanori Takaya. All twelve members of the team, according to him, have left the Olympic Village and are in quarantine. It's the first time the coronavirus has stopped an entire team from taking part in the competitions. So far, 30 infections have been counted in the Olympic Village. < / p>

The total number of infections related to the Olympic Games increased on Wednesday by 29 to 327, counting all infections since July 1. Among the approximately 42,000 people who have entered the Olympic Games so far, there were 124 infections. The other infections affect residents of Japan, including mostly service providers for the Games. Infections of this magnitude were expected, Takaya said.
