Alfa Romeo to make its debut in Abu Dhabi after-season test by Bottas

After a five-year tenure with Brackley, the Finn will say goodbye to Yas Marina on Sunday. He has won 10 Grand Prix victories for the championship-winning outfit.

Bottas signed a multiyear contract with Alfa Romeo. However, it was not clear if Bottas would be released from Mercedes to make his debut with the Swiss outfit in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.

Formula 1's postseason test will be held at Yas Marina over two days. All teams will have a rookie driver or junior driver one day, and a mule car with 2022-spec 18 inch wheels the other. This is part of Pirelli’s tyre development program.

Williams will entrust his FW43B to Logan Sargeant, a young American hopeful. However, the Grove-based outfit won't be able to take part in the 18-inch wheel test because it doesn't have a mile car.

Bottas, who finished sixth in Sunday's Abu Dhabi title decider, will be ready to race his last race with Mercedes and help Lewis Hamilton win a record eighth title worldwide. He will also be helping his team win the Constructors championship.

He said, "I'm willing to sacrifice my ideal race because we really want both titles"

"I will do my part to help the team win both titles."
