Bundesliga: Survey: FC Bayern again the big favorite for the title

Record champions and defending champions FC Bayern Munich are the big favorites going into the 60th season of the Bundesliga. This was the result of a survey by the German Press Agency among the coaches and managers of the 18 Bundesliga clubs, two of which did not participate.

Borussia Dortmund's managing director Hans-Joachim Watzke is certain: "With these newcomers, Bayern Munich is the number one favorite. They may lose an exceptional player in Robert Lewandowski, but they will gain two exceptional players in Sadio Mané and Matthijs de Ligt." For the rest of the league, too, Munich are the number one title contenders.

After all, a number of those responsible trust BVB, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen to make the season more exciting than in previous years. "I hope for the tension within the Bundesliga that it remains an open race between these clubs for a long time," said Sven Mislintat, sporting director of VfB Stuttgart. Cologne coach Steffen Baumgart assumes "that all four teams will play for the championship. Bayern, BVB, Leverkusen and Leipzig are really well positioned for the new season."

The Bavarians themselves did not give a tip, but the statements of those responsible speak for themselves. "We aim to win titles. I'm optimistic for the new season," said President Herbert Hainer. And CEO Oliver Kahn emphasized: "We have a top squad! Everyone who is there is dying to go one better and win more titles than last season."
