BVB salary not enough ?: Moukoko rants about "lies" about transfer rumors

Does he stay or does he want to leave? The rumors about Youssoufa Moukoko have kept Borussia Dortmund in suspense for weeks. The 18-year-old is repeatedly accused of extremely high salary demands. On the other hand, the DFB youngster is now clearly defending himself.

Young star Youssoufa Moukoko has reacted to the latest media reports about sluggish contract talks with Borussia Dortmund and a possible change of club. "Hello dear fans. Please don't believe everything you read in the newspapers! I know it's all part of the business of football now, but even though I'm still young I don't let myself be pressured into making decisions about my future . I will not accept such a lie about me," wrote the 18-year-old national soccer player on Instagram on Friday.

The top scorer was responding to a report by the "Bild" newspaper, according to which his salary expectations in the months of negotiations about an extension of the contract, which expires at the end of the season, do not match Borussia's generous offer. He is said to be asking more than BVB's current offer, which is six million euros a year, which triples his salary.

The "Bild" reported on the impending new month-long transfer poker, as Erling Haaland had already done. Moukoko, who made his debut for the German national team in November and was nominated for the World Cup in Qatar, only has one contract with BVB until the end of the season. From January 1st, Moukoko can officially negotiate with other clubs. His advisor Patrick Williams had recently rejected a contract extension with BVB. "I can confirm that we are not yet about to sign a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund," he told Sky.

But Moukoko now commented: "It's really sad that nowadays you can bring something like this into the world so that you (fans) have a wrong picture of me, it's a real shame because I'm still shocked by the reports." His promise to the fans: "My full focus is on the second half of the season and it's about Borussia Dortmund. No player is bigger than the club."

Moukoko was directly involved in twelve goals for BVB this season. He is associated with FC Barcelona, FC Chelsea or Real Madrid, among others.
