Eintracht Frankfurt: Trapp: There will probably never be anything like Barcelona again

Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Kevin Trapp considers the events that occurred when progressing at FC Barcelona this spring to be unique.

"We had this fantastic crowd that carried us from win to win and turned Barcelona into a home game. There has never been anything like it and there probably never will be. I don't think a home club will allow that again after what happened at the Camp Nou," said World Cup participant Trapp in an interview on the Hessian club's website.

Almost 30,000 Eintracht fans made it to the Camp Nou in April in the second leg of the quarter-finals and saw the Hessians progress with a 3-2 win. A good month later, they won the Europa League title. That's why Frankfurt is allowed to compete against Real Madrid in Helsinki on August 10 (9 p.m. / RTL and DAZN).

"It's in our DNA to be able to cause problems for every opponent," said Trapp before the showdown with the Champions League winner from Spain. "We see ourselves in a position not only to annoy such teams, but to be able to defeat them. We will go into the game with that attitude." For the team of head coach Oliver Glasner it is the first game after the 6-1 Bundesliga start against FC Bayern last Friday.
