"Everyone dissatisfied, in a bad mood": Kahn relies on Nagelsmann despite the Bayern crisis

FC Bayern is in the first crisis of the still fresh season. There is already a lot of speculation about coach Julian Nagelsmann. With Thomas Tuchel there is a prominent coach on the market. But CEO Oliver Kahn wants nothing to do with that. He is cranky but confident.

CEO Oliver Kahn rejected speculation about coach Julian Nagelsmann in the midst of FC Bayern's earnings crisis. "We're not dealing with any other coaches now. We're totally convinced of Julian," said the former national goalkeeper when the German record champions visited the Oktoberfest. After Munich's 0-1 draw at FC Augsburg and the last four Bundesliga games without a win, coach Nagelsmann also came into focus, especially since Thomas Tuchel (most recently FC Chelsea) is a prominent coach on the market.

The point average of Munich's game director is currently 1.71 in this Bundesliga season. Niko Kovac was released from the record champions in 2020 with 1.80 points per game. Now FC Bayern is fourth in the table after seven games with twelve points, after Kovac's last game (1:5 in Frankfurt) it was also fourth after ten games with 18 points. But unlike Kovac, Nagelsmann gets backing.

It is important for Bayern to rest during the international break, said Kahn. Then there are games against Leverkusen, in the Champions League against Pilsen, in Dortmund and against Freiburg. "Of course we are all dissatisfied, in a bad mood," admitted the 53-year-old and announced an intensive analysis of the sporting situation. "We have to get to the bottom of it all. And assume that as soon as it starts again against Leverkusen, we will and have to attack fully," said the CEO.

His club has everything it needs for further success. "Perhaps one or the other has taken hold of the belief that you could do the Bundesliga on the side. But that's not the case," said Kahn. Together with the team, the Munich management now wants to see "which levers we can move so that we can quickly get back on the road to success in the Bundesliga".
