Final or bronze, RTL shows EM: German basketball dream also on Sunday on free TV

Good news for all basketball fans. Even before the semifinals against Spain, one thing is certain: the DBB team's hero's journey will be shown on free TV until the end. RTL broadcasts the last EM game on Sunday. It doesn't matter whether it's about gold in the final or bronze in the small final.

Germany is electrified by its basketball heroes! Only one win in the classic game against Spain separates the DBB team from reaching the historic final. Regardless of the big hit on Friday evening, one thing is already certain: RTL will accompany the German national basketball team's European Championship trip to the end! The Cologne broadcaster broadcasts either the German game for EM gold (start: 8.15 p.m. / tip-off 8.30 p.m.) or for 3rd place in the EuroBasket 2022 (start: 4.45 p.m. / tip-off 5.15 p.m.) on September 18 live on free -TV. RTL Deutschland acquired the free TV rights to the live broadcasts from Telekom at short notice as part of a sublicense agreement, which shows all matches of the European Championship on MagentaSport.

Fans can already follow this evening live on RTL whether the team around NBA star Dennis Schröder can dream of a big European Championship triumph on Sunday. Presenter Laura Papendick welcomes the spectators live from the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin to the semifinals against Spain (start: 8.15 p.m. / tip-off 8.30 p.m.). The German basketball icon Dirk Nowitzki is again a guest on the RTL broadcast and prepares the fans for what is supposed to be the next big basketball party. The game will be commented on by Frank Buschmann and record national player Patrick Femerling (Co).

"We're talking about Spain here, they're THE European basketball team of the last 15 years, so maybe you shouldn't ignore that completely. Even if the team is different than in previous years, there are NBA players and players from the ACB, that's the first Spanish league and the best in Europe," warns commentator Frank Buschmann in the run-up to the game in an RTL interview, adding: "But of course a victory for the Germans is possible!"
