Bohannon, who's set to go back to the team because of his sixth time, was"recovering nicely," Hawkeyes coach Fran McCaffery said.
"Thankfully Jordan is recovering nicely after being assaulted by an person he didn't see coming ," McCaffery said. "We were made conscious of the incident instantly. We're thankful that friends who had been with Jordan in the time maintained the incident from escalating.
Iowa associate athletic communications manager Matt Weitzel advised The Gazette no charges had been filed in the case and an"evaluation is continuing."
The paper noted that a movie was shared Vimeo of that which seems to be the attack in question.
Iowa City authorities haven't commented on the circumstance. The assault seemed to be arbitrary. The movie does not reveal what happened minutes before Bohannon was on the floor.
Bohannon was awarded an additional year of eligibility due to the coronavirus pandemic. He's ninth in career issues with 1,638.
