That's probably what you call a spectacle: latte, post, dismissal, two missed goals and still five goals. Mainz handles FC Köln at home. Two duels between Onisiwo from Mainz and the unlucky Kilian are decisive for the game.
After almost six months, FSV Mainz 05 has ended the home curse in the Bundesliga and rounded off a perfect week. The Rheinhessen defeated 1. FC Köln 5-0 (3-0) and jumped to a place in the Champions League at least for a day. For Mainz, who celebrated their last home win on April 30 in a 3-1 win against FC Bayern, it was their third win in six days after beating Werder Bremen 2-0 and winning the cup 3-0 at VfB Lübeck.
Two weeks after the 5-2 defeat in Gladbach, FC suffered another tough away defeat and found themselves in the top middle of the table. The last time FC had lost so much was a year ago on October 15, 2021 at 0: 5 in Hoffenheim.
