Now a boxing comeback?: Fury wants to knock out the "Game of Thrones" giants

Tyson Fury has been speculating about a comeback for months. The boxing star, who is as extroverted as he is egocentric, officially retired after beating Dillian Whyte in April. But now the Briton is making people sit up and take notice again.

Will Tyson Fury return to the ring after all? Actually, the 33-year-old didn't want to fight anymore, but a show event against Hafthor "Thor" Bjornsson could probably make the heavyweight champion rethink. In an interview with the "Telegraph", Fury confirmed thoughts about a show fight against the Icelander. "That would be a little fun," said the self-proclaimed "Gypsy King." He thinks it would be great "to go in there in front of - say - 70,000 fans and show him what boxing is all about, throw him off and knock him out."

The boxing pensioner confirmed discussions with Bjornsson's team. A possible event is "definitely something I'm interested in". Bjornsson is best known for his role as Gregor Clegane on Game of Thrones. In 2018, the 33-year-old was also crowned "World's Strongest Man". "I know that there are negotiations and talks, but nothing is finalized," the Icelander is said to have confirmed plans for a possible Fury fight on "IFL TV".

The event could apparently take place in November. Of course, it would not be about official titles. It remains unclear whether Fury will really start his career again. The Brit had made repeated allusions in this direction in recent months. According to Fury, he is flirting with a fight against his compatriot Anthony Joshua, who will first meet world champion Oleksandr Usyk in August. Should the Ukrainian win the rematch against the dethroned Joshua, a unification fight is conceivable: The Ukrainian holds the belts of the WBA, WBO and IBF associations.

Fury, on the other hand, emphasized in mid-June: "I am happy in retirement and it will cost people half a billion to get me out of retirement." With a comeback, according to his immodest announcement, he would also save the honor of British boxing: "If AJ is beaten again, then there is only one man who can redeem this great fighting nation, and his name is Tyson Fury. I can do them all Solve problems, I'm just a phone call away. But it costs half a billion."
