Meyers Taylor, 37 years old, won bronze at Beijing 2022. She also became the most decorated female Olympic bobsledder with this win. Shani Davis, who previously held the title with four medals, was the previous holder.
Meyers Taylor admitted that she was overwhelmed by the news.
According to
CNN, she stated that "It's crazy to hear that stat" and that it's a part of a larger legacy than myself. "I hope it encourages more black athletes to try winter sports, not just black athletes. Winter sports are for everyone.

"We want everyone to come out, regardless of skin color. She said that winter sports should be accessible to everyone, regardless of race or socio-economic status. I believe that the sport will be stronger if there is more diversity. This is the beginning of more people trying winter sports.

This is the fourth Olympic Games that the athlete has participated in. Meyers Taylor, who started bobsledding in 2007, also participated in the Vancouver 2010, Sochi 2014 and PyeongChang 2018, games. She has won three silvers and two bronze.
