The Minister of Sports and the Olympics, Amélie Oudéa-Castéra, told the National Assembly on Tuesday that ticket prices for the Paris 2024 Olympics are "lower" than those of previous editions while the second phase of sales is underway. . A second phase of sales is underway, in which 1.5 million tickets are offered, and it is again creating dissatisfaction and frustration, as in the first phase. "I hear about prices at 2,700 euros for the opening ceremony, prices at 700 euros for athletics, so I'm a little worried about the advertised prices", launched Éric Coquerel during a dedicated hearing. to the sports budget.

"We have 10% of the mass of tickets that are over 200 euros [...] These prices are completely in line with the pricing in previous editions of the Games and therefore, [...] taking into account inflation, the prices are lower than previous editions,” she said.

With regard to the opening ceremony, of which 100,000 places are paying, on the lower quays of the Seine, the tickets are currently displayed at 2,700 euros, the lowest prices at 90 euros went first.

“We will especially have hundreds of thousands of people who, for free, will attend this opening ceremony,” she said. “Only on the lower platforms are tickets paid for up to 100,000 people. For everything else, the gauge will be refined, it will be around 400,000, all of this will be confirmed in the next few days,” she said. Initially, a gauge of 600,000 people, including the 100,000 paying people, had been announced.
