Touchdown almost at the same time: St. Brown brothers start historically in the NFL season

NFL receivers Amon-Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown make NFL history: The Germans score on different teams on the same day. At the start of the National Football League, only one of the two can contribute to victory.

Brothers Amon-Ra and Equanimeous St. Brown each scored a touchdown for their teams at the start of the NFL season, creating a first. Never before in the history of the league have two German professionals scored in the National Football League on the same day.

In his first competitive game for the Chicago Bears on Sunday, 25-year-old Equanimeous St. Brown scored the touchdown to the interim 13:10 and the lead that extended the Bears to an unexpected 19:10 against the highly valued San Francisco 49ers. He caught an 18-yard pass. "I'm very happy. It was a bit difficult because of the rain, but we won the game and I got a touchdown," said St. Brown. "That was very important. That way I can get momentum and benefit from it."

His brother Amon-Ra St. Brown, who was three years his junior, caught a short pass over four yards on his touchdown, but was unable to prevent the Detroit Lions from a narrow 35:38 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. With a total of eight passes caught for 64 yards, St. Brown was the most successful receiver for the Lions, confirming the strong performances at the end of last season.

Meanwhile, Dominik Eberle has found a new club in the NFL. The Detroit Lions confirmed the commitment of the kicker from Nuremberg. The 26-year-old was accepted into the Practice Squad. Eberle was not used in the loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Most recently, Eberle was active with the Green Bay Packers, but was sorted out again in June after just four months. Eberle made his NFL debut last season. Shortly after Christmas he scored two field goals and five extra points in the Houston Texans jersey against the Los Angeles Chargers (41:29). It was his only mission so far.
