Geekom Mini IT11: This mini PC is as good as a big computer

The Geekom Mini IT11 is supposed to be a mini PC that can easily replace a large desktop computer with high performance and complete equipment. ntv.de tried out the little power pack.

If you don't have space on your desk for a notebook and don't want to put a fat desktop computer on the floor, you can buy a mini PC. The devices are now so powerful that they are no longer an emergency solution. The new Geekom Mini IT11, which offers powerful equipment at moderate prices, would like to be one of them.

The mini PC is not a marvel of design, but its matte, gray plastic housing is impressive and doesn't necessarily have to hide. If you still want it, you can attach the computer, which weighs just 565 grams, to the back of a monitor using the supplied mounting plate. The 11.7 x 11.2 x 4.56 millimeter small device with a metal frame makes a very solid and high-quality impression.

The equipment is more important than the optics - and Geekom has not been stingy with it. The Mini IT11 has two USB-C inputs that can reach data rates of up to 20 gigabits per second (Gbps) at USB 4 speeds and can serve as a display port. Three USB-A sockets come with USB 3.2 at 10 Gbit/s.

There is also an SD card reader, an HDMI port (2.0), a mini DisplayPort, a Gigabit Ethernet port and a headphone jack. On the right side there is an anti-theft device with a Kensington lock.

The interior also has a lot to offer. Geekom offers the mini PC in various versions with eleventh generation Intel chips. on. The test device for around 640 euros is equipped with a Core i7-1195G7 that can access 16 gigabytes (GB) of RAM (DDR4-SODIMM). The SSD storage (M.2) is 512 GB.

If that's not enough, you can unscrew the Mini IT11 and expand the RAM up to 64 GB, the SSD storage can be expanded up to two terabytes (TB). The radio standards are Bluetooth 5.2 and Wifi 6.

With these components, the Geekom Mini IT11 really accelerates in everyday office life. All actions run quickly and smoothly, the computer makes a pleasingly jagged impression. Image and video editing don't pose any problems for the mini PC either, as long as you don't overdo it and torment the small box with huge files.

The same applies to games. Without a separate graphics card, the little one certainly has enough power for more demanding games, but you shouldn't have too high expectations. But the Mini-PC is not intended for that at all.

It is nice that the small computer is also quite quiet when it has to make an effort. The fan can then be heard, but never so loud that it would be annoying. The heat development is also limited. The Mini IT11 only gets a little warm when called upon, but never overheats.

The compact computer gets another plus point with a pre-installed Windows Pro, which comes with practically no pre-installed additional software apart from TikTok, Disney and Spotify.

All in all, the Geekom Mini IT11 was convincing in the test. In everyday office life, it has easily replaced a large desktop computer and entertained it in our free time. The tested variant offers a very good price-performance ratio for just under 640 euros. If you rarely play or edit videos, you will also be satisfied with slightly cheaper versions.
