TikTok videos will get longer.

TikTok spokesperson confirmed Monday that users will be able to create videos of up to 10 minutes in length.

According to a spokesperson, the platform is always looking for new ways to enrich TikTok's experience and bring value to the community. 10-minute videos are their latest attempt at improving the app.

The spokesperson stated that they were excited to begin rolling out the ability for creators to upload videos up to 10 minutes.

TikTok last increased maximum video time in July 2021 when it increased video length from one minute to three.

TikTok is evolving into a longer-form video app, with videos that are closer to YouTube's content. Other platforms, such as YouTube and Instagram, are trying to capture the magic in shortform videos.

Instagram has Reels, a TikTok-like feature, while YouTube has Shorts. Both of these features were launched in 2020.
