Man smells of marijuana at court, gets arrested, police say

WEST AMWELL TWP. - A 25-year-old man from Trenton was charged with marijuana possession after showing up to municipal court smelling of marijuana, police said.

Patrolman Joseph Cesare was providing court security in the township's municipal court on Feb. 8 when Juan Serrano, who had arrived for a court appearance, walked by. Cesare said Serrano smelled of burnt marijuana, police said.

Serrano was released with an additional court date after being arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, police said.

Township police also reported the arrest of a 22-year-old Lansdale, Pa., man, who was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana by Patrolman Jonathan Sellner following a motor-vehicle Sekabet stop on Route 202 at 10:03 p.m. on Feb. 12, police said.

In Franklin Township, Lt. Timothy Snyder, Jr., arrested a 25-year-old Phillipsburg man, charging him with marijuana and drug paraphernalia possession following a motor-vehicle stop on Frontage Road at 11:34 p.m. on Sunday, police said.

A 19-year-old from Edison was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana by Patrolman Matt Bast in Lambertville following a motor-vehicle stop on Route 29 near Buttonwood Street at 7:46 p.m. on Feb. 11, police said.
