Photographers wanted for Delaware River towns project

FRENCHTOWN - Amateur and professional photographers are invited to participate in the second annual Delaware River Towns Photo Project.

The intent of the Earth Day Weekend-long photo shoot being held April 22 and 23 is to capture the unique character of the towns that border both sides of the Delaware River from Riegelsville in Pennsylvania to Lambertville, according to a news release.

Photographers are free to roam and shoot anywhere within the boroughs boundaries in Riegelsville, Milford, Frenchtown, Stockton, Lambertville and New Hope, Pa.

The project will culminate in exhibitions in Frenchtown at Brokaw Photography Studio over the Memorial Day weekend, May 27-28, and in Lambertville at River Valley Realty, the following weekend, June 3-4.

"Our first year of the project we had almost 50 photographers participate and more than 120 images on display" said Bill Brokaw, founder and project coordinator. "It was great. Photographers came from all over to participate including from outside the U.S. They really enjoyed creating and displaying their images and the public loved seeing all the different ways a town can be expressed in photos.

"This year we are expanding by including more towns and more photographers.  Every photographer has a unique vision and this is an opportunity to express it and share it. This isn't a competition, it's a collaboration."

Participation is free and open to all, but limited to the first 75 applicants. For project guidelines and participation form, e-mail Brokaw at Bill@BrokawPhoto.com and put "River Towns Photo Project" in the subject line.

Applications are due by March 31.
