Arista, 2014 Mononi Vineyard, Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, 14.9%, $75. This pinot noir is drop dead gorgeous, with deep cherry flavors and notes of cola and smoke. It’s generous, packed with fruit, a touch earthy and has great intensity.
William Selyem, 2014 Westside Road Neighbors, Russian River Valley, Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir, 13.8%, $72. Aromas and flavors of black raspberry, cedar and white pepper. Crisp acid. Snappy spice. Lovely.
Garry Farrell, 2014 Gap’s Crown Vineyard, Sonoma Coast, Sonoma County Pinot Noir, 14.2%, $75. An earthy, smoky pinot with bright fruit – cherry and red raspberry. Herbs and mineral in the mix. Crisp acid. Lingering finish.
Marimar Estate, 2014 La Masia Don Miguel Vineyard, Russian River Valley Pinot Noir, 14.2%, $49. A lively pinot with a great range – black cherry, plum and clove. Rich tannins. Lush texture and nice length. Smart.
