Abducted jogger having a ‘tough time’ coping with trauma

The California mom who was found bound and beaten on the side of a road three weeks after being kidnapped is having “a tough time” and “seeing counselors,” according to a report.

The anonymous donor who offered an undisclosed ransom for Sherri Papini’s safe return spoke with Chris Hansen of Crime Watch Daily in an exclusive interview set to be aired Tuesday afternoon.

In a teaser posted to its Facebook page, the show promises “explosive new details” and a “possible cult connection” to the brutal kidnapping.

Hansen can be heard asking the donor if he thinks his ransom offer — despite remaining unclaimed — helped secure Papini’s safe return.

The donor, who is seen in silhouette, says, “She’s thrown out on the side of the road within 24 hours of changing the offer to a bounty.”

The IB Times reported the donor said “she’s having a tough time. She can’t be around any strangers…. She’s seeing some counselors a couple of times a week, and she is just struggling,” citing a preview from a media clip of the upcoming interview.

The taped interview will reveal how the donor “got involved, his thoughts on what he thinks happened and how Papini is coping,” according to the news website.

Papini vanished Nov. 2 while on a jog down the street from her Northern California home in the rural Mountain Gate area outside of Redding. She turned up Thanksgiving morning on the side of a highway over 100 miles from where she went missing.

The mother of two was chained, beaten and purportedly branded by her captors, who were two Hispanic women, according to police.

She is yet to speak out publicly but The Post captured pictures of her outside of her home in January. It was the first time she had been seen publicly since the kidnapping.
