Dixie Lewis, the 19-year-old daughter of this author Michael Lewis and former MTV correspondent Tabitha Soren, was killed in a highway crash at northern California.
Lewis was a passenger in an automobile driven by her friend and former Berkeley High School classmate, Ross Schultz, 20, who also perished in accident on Tuesday afternoon, based on her loved ones members and police.
"We loved her so much and therefore are in a sort of pain not one of us has undergone," Michael Lewis said in an announcement to Berkeleyside, a community news site that initially reported that the deaths.
"She adored Ross, with whom she expired. She loved to live and our hearts are broken they can not find the words to describe the sensation."
The family, including siblings Walker and Quinn, will"find means for her memory to reside inside her lack", Michael Lewis stated.
An announcement from Schultz's family stated they'd maintain his memory"present and dear and figure out ways to recall himand Dixie, forever".
The car veered across a double-yellow lineup was uncertain and witnesses were sought, Williams stated.
Calls into the CHP seeking additional information on the injury weren't immediately returned.
Dixie Lewis graduated from high school this past year and had finished her first year in Pomona school, where she performed on the softball team, based on Berkeleyside.
Schultz, a part of this high school's championship football team, had completed his second year in California State Polytechnic University, Pomona.
A number of Michael Lewis' nonfiction novels have been adapted for films, such as Moneyball starring Brad Pitt and The Blind Side with Sandra Bullock.
Lewis and Soren, who had been a political reporter for MTV and also is a photographer, wed in 1997.
