Sam Smith has broken his silence and declared to be a person of non-binary. The singer claims not to be identified neither with the male nor with the female. For this reason, the artist has asked his followers through their social networks that they stop referring to you as "he" or "she," and do so using pronouns neutral.

The singer of "Stay With Me" made this request on his Twitter account, where he admitted that h had been "at war" with himself for "a lifetime" by not knowing how to define their gender. "I'm so excited and I feel so privileged to be surrounded by people who support me in this decision, although I am also very nervous about announcing this because I care too much what people might think," added Smith in his publication.

The brave gesture of the singer was praised by many of his fans, who supported Sam and they spent a emotive messages of encouragement. "I am so happy to finally be honest with yourself and with your gender. For all the hatred and confusion that you get from this, you should know that there is also an immense amount of love and support!", replied one of his followers.
