Bassey sang the theme songs for the 007 film classics "Goldfinger" (1964), "Diamonds Are Forever" (1971) and "Moonraker" (1979). Earlier in the year, Dame Shirley had taken a break from retirement to sing "Diamonds Are Forever" at the British Film Awards ceremony, known as the Bafta.
At the gala in October, which is curated by Bond soundtrack composer David Arnold ("Casino Royale") under the title "The Sound Of 007 In Concert", alongside the band Garbage (Bond song: "The World Is Not Enough"), the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and the singer Celeste expect further well-known guests, which will be announced at a later date.
