Iffezheim (dpa/lsw) - With the race for the Golden Whip, the first highlight is on the opening weekend of the Big Week on the racecourse in Iffezheim on Sunday. Over 1200 meters, the short-distance race is about the most coveted prize in German racing. The big week includes a total of five racing days. There are races on Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday as well as next weekend. On the final day, the Grand Prix of Baden takes place.
In this, Germany's exceptional horse Torquator Tasso is to complete his dress rehearsal for the title defense in the famous Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, which the stallion sensationally won in 2021. Derby winner Sammarco is one of his opponents.
A total of 49 races will be held at the event in Iffezheim and prize money of 1.3 million euros will be paid out.
