Baden-Württemberg: concrete slab on foot: construction workers seriously injured

Oberndorf am Neckar (dpa / lsw) - A construction worker in Oberndorf am Neckar fell on his foot with a concrete slab weighing around 200 kilograms. The 44-year-old was seriously injured and taken to a hospital, a police spokesman said on Friday. The piece of concrete was attached to a small crane on Thursday and, for reasons that were initially unclear, had come loose from the crane's grippers. This was secured at the construction site in the district of Rottweil for further investigations. The construction worker's safety shoes saved him from even more serious injuries, as the police spokesman explained.
