Freiburg (dpa / lsw) - After the fire in several cars in the backyard of a company in Freiburg, the police arrested a suspect. As the officials announced on Monday, the 50-year-old is a former employee of the company concerned.
Investigators assume that the man intentionally set fire to one of the cars on Sunday afternoon. The fire then spread to five other vehicles parked in the backyard. The facades of two buildings were also damaged by the fire. Police estimate the damage to be in the mid-six figures. Nobody got hurt.
The suspect is currently in custody. According to the police, witnesses saw the 50-year-old at the scene shortly before the fire broke out.
