Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - Four people were slightly injured in a kitchen fire in an apartment building in Stuttgart. The fire was probably caused by an unattended pot of oil on a stove, police said. Residents noticed smoke on the third floor on Monday evening and alerted the fire brigade.
The residents, including several children, had already left the building when the emergency services arrived, according to the fire brigade. The fire was quickly extinguished. But the stairwell was smoke-filled. The injured, aged 19, 28, 46 and 50, were taken to hospital with suspected smoke inhalation. The police estimated the damage at tens of thousands of euros.
