Nufringen/Gärtringen (dpa/lsw) - A 26-year-old driver was critically injured in a head-on collision between two cars in the Böblingen district. The 39-year-old driver of the other car suffered serious injuries in the collision on Friday on the B14 between Nufringen and Gärtringen, the police said in the evening.
The 26-year-old was driving his car on the B14 around 6 p.m. when he drove into the opposite lane for reasons that were initially unclear. He crashed head-on into an oncoming car. Both vehicles then landed on the grass verge, the 26-year-old's car remained on its side. Both men were trapped in their cars, police said. They were freed by firefighters and taken to nearby hospitals. The B14 was completely blocked at the accident site for several hours.
